My Sleep Journey

Welcome! I’m Jeff Walton. I’m an avid hiker, a fanatical college football fan (go Iowa Hawkeyes!) and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I enjoy spending time with friends, my best friend who also happens to be my brother and my amazing girlfriend.

I am also an adult sleep coach who is deeply committed to guiding you through the darkness of insomnia and other sleep challenges into the light of restful, rejuvenating sleep. My journey into sleep coaching was motivated by personal battles — a time when sleepless nights were my norm, and the exhaustion that followed me into each day often prevented me from doing the things I enjoy or being fully present and patient with the people I love.

The impact of those endless nights was profound, touching every aspect of my life and leaving me yearning for relief that seemed just out of reach. It was an experience I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. Yet, it was through this very struggle that I discovered not only the solutions that would reclaim my nights but also a passion for sharing these solutions with others.

I set out on a comprehensive journey that included learning the science of sleep, the importance of my sleep environment, experimenting with various relaxation techniques and shifting the way I thought about insomnia. It was a path marked by trial and error, often one good night of sleep forward was followed by two back. Many nights I lay awake, my mind racing with thoughts of what I had learned that day to achieve better sleep. The irony was not lost on me that these very thoughts were preventing me from getting that sleep. Ultimately, I discovered not just the tools for my own healing, but the foundation upon which I would build my coaching practice.
